Join or Start a Guild

Thank you for your interest in Seattle Children’s Guild Association! We are the largest, all-volunteer fundraising network for any hospital in the nation with 230 guilds and 3,000 members across Washington state. We are so grateful for the support of a generous community, committed to helping kids live their healthiest and most fulfilling lives possible.

There are three ways to get involved with the Guild Association:

  • Join a guild
  • Start a guild
  • Volunteer at a guild event

Whichever route you choose, you become a member of the Guild Association family – where more than 3,000 passionate, creative, and generous volunteers are dedicated to improving the health of children through fundraising and advocacy efforts.

Start a Guild

Interested in forming your own guild? We can help! Every guild is its own individual nonprofit organization, supported by Seattle Children’s. Guilds host an annual fundraising event or project benefiting Seattle Children’s. We also have junior guilds, which are primarily led by volunteers younger than 18 years old, with the support of a parent, guardian and/or adult advisor(s).

Guild requirements

Guilds must have at least four founding members to get started. Founding members can choose the area at Seattle Children’s they’d like their guild to support – ranging from uncompensated care, clinical programs and research. If you don’t have a funding priority in mind, we can help by sharing more information about Seattle Children’s greatest needs.

Guilds are encouraged to plan at least one fundraising event or project each year, with a minimum three-year commitment. From outdoor movie nights and community runs to dinner auctions, golf tournaments and more - there are many fundraising options to consider. Beyond this recommendation, guild activity and individual member involvement is flexible.

How We Can Help

Guild Association staff, trustees and committee members are available to support guilds in their efforts. A few of the many ways we can help include:

  • New guild orientation – including founding member/officer training
  • Event consulting, fundraising ideas and best practices
  • Inspirational patient stories and hospital information to share at events
  • Help from a guild accountant with necessary IRS filings
  • Guidance on opening a bank account
  • Certification as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, including a federal taxpayer ID number
  • Event liability insurance when applicable
  • Basic event supplies, including banners and posters.
