Biography
Megan Frye, PhD is a Lead Attending Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Frye specializes in the assessment and treatment of developmental, behavioral, and emotional challenges including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She provides therapy and leads the autism diagnostic clinic at Odessa Brown. She also leads efforts underway to integrate autism diagnostic services into primary care and school settings both at Odessa Brown and in the broader WWAMI region.
Dr. Frye provides services to children and families in both English and Spanish. She draws primarily from cognitive behavioral and systems theory, as well as other evidence-based treatments including dialectical behavior, parent-child interaction, and mindfulness-based therapies. Her assessment and treatment are guided by a belief in the importance of collaborative problem solving and a supportive therapeutic relationship. She works closely with her clients and their families to understand individual strengths and help use those strengths to overcome challenges.Â
In addition to her clinical work at Odessa Brown, Dr. Frye is the Co-Director of Training and Lead of Consultation in School-Based Behavioral Health at Seattle Children’s and Affiliate Faculty at the University of Washington's School Mental Health Assessment Research & Training Center, where she provides clinical consultation and training to therapists and staff in school-based health centers.
Dr. Frye earned her PhD. in school psychology from the University of Washington. She completed her general child clinical psychology internship at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah where she gained specialized training in the treatment of trauma and anxiety disorders in children. She completed a post-doctoral clinical fellowship in the Bernier Research Lab at the University of Washington Autism Center focusing on the assessment and treatment of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. Previous to completing her Ph.D., Dr. Frye also earned a master’s degree in school psychology and worked as a nationally certified school psychologist and licensed mental health counselor both locally and internationally in South America.
