"My passion for working with children, teens and young adults facing the challenges of cancer treatment is rooted in witnessing their extraordinary resilience and strength. At Seattle Children's Hospital, I am privileged to work alongside brilliant colleagues who are equally dedicated to providing the highest level of care and support. Together, we strive to create an environment where our young patients can find hope and courage, navigating their treatment with determination and grace. The moments of triumph, the shared laughter and even the tears of struggle fuel my commitment to helping these incredible individuals thrive during and after their cancer journey. It is an honor to be part of their lives, contributing to their emotional and psychological well-being, and celebrating their resilience every step of the way."

Biography
Dr. Patten's involvement with Seattle Children's Hospital began in 2002 when she completed a summer apprenticeship on the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit. This experience inspired her to pursue graduate training at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Her clinical training included health psychology, pediatric psychology and neuropsychology at the University of Chicago, Comer Children's Hospital, Lurie Children’s Hospital and Michael Reese Hospital. She matched for psychology residency at the Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota where she worked primarily with children and adolescents with cancer. Dr. Patten returned to Seattle Children's Hospital as a postdoctoral fellow with the Neuropsychological Consultation Service and now works as a clinical and pediatric psychologist in the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.
